£10.45 an hour to manage a shop? Outrageous. You can do the same job at Tesco for £1 an hour more. I know because I used to do it. They binned off all the Team Managers and expected us to carry the workload for 95p more an hour than the staff! Just one manager in a large shop taking big bucks, only her and Team Leaders trying to do all they can under the *Fit For Future" program. I feel sorry for my manager, she can't recruit new team leaders and no one else wants the extra responsibility for the outrageously low pay. The pressure is immense, you're expected to be a manger for little more than minimum wage. Who would ever want to work weekends, bank holidays, late nights and early mornings managing a large shop and a team of staff for £10.45 per hour when you can get jobs cleaning toilets that pay more?
