Pros

Unfortunately can't think of any.

Cons

- Bulling is rife across all job roles, upwards and downwards bullying is a constant battle. - Physically and mentally exhausting place to work. - Ignoring complaints and don't deal with any issues, just sweep them under the rug and this is well known across all job roles. - Upper management undermime Store Managers regularly and side with staff to help bully you. - People are scared to speak up and be honest for fear of being treated badly or fired. - Employees spend more time fighting than working. - Head office is out of touch with everything at store level. - No work life balance and ridiculous hours of work. - No training is provided and you are told off constantly when things go wrong. - No support from colleagues, awful toxic culture and stepping on each other to get ahead. - Good performance means nothing and only those who suck up to higher management are treated with any respect. - Day to day store management is horrendous, no time to do any tasks with online order sounding off all day. - Staff have no respect for rank and abuse the complaints process to get their own way. - Many Store Managers are taking shortcuts and lying when it come to process to make their stores look good on paper. - Company just doesn't care about its staff on any level. - Highly exclusionary, lots of age discrimination and sexual orientation discrimination to name a few. - Rate of pay is not worth enduring the abuse and torture from other colleagues and other employees.

We're sorry that you feel this way and in many ways you describe a workplace that is not one that we at Co-op Group UK recognise or condone. We pride ourselves on our inclusive and progressive policies and providing a safe space for our colleagues to thrive. Co-op has a zero tolerance approach to bullying and harassment of any kind, we encourage colleagues that are witness or subject to bullying to speak up without fear. If a colleague feels that they are unable to do this, there are anonymous channels to seek advice and support, and report unacceptable behaviour. We hope that you reported any incidents that you witnessed while you worked with us. If you feel that there are more details that we should be aware of, you can use the former colleague contact form at https://colleagues.coop.co.uk/contacts so that we can look into this.

Pros

Team got on well, hours weren't particularly harsh (pay not particularly impressive either)

Cons

Overworked due to corporate ruthlessly cutting hours (while hiring more staff?), generally piling on more and more work to the store team without considering time constraints, absolutely no opportunity for advancement while a store manager is already there
