Pros

Knowing the city, the location is nice. It is far away form the fuss and traffic of the standard places of doing business in Bucharest. There are some benefits that can be considered as a pro, and i will state them here just for reference, as they are for a long time the norm in the industry for Romania: gym discounts, free fruit, free coffee, free refreshments, work from home (used to be unlimited, now cut down to 10 days a month). Something additional that is not standard consist of a Summit event, and as far as the last 2 went, they are quite fun for the most of it.

Cons

There are several things that need to be dais here. Even though Holacracy is supposed to be practiced, the management system can be considered as being Communism. It is supposed to flatten down the management, have the power shared among all employees, and allow all to have a voice. This sound nice, but in reality there is a lot of shadow management being done. For the masses it is preached a good life, with all sharing the entire "wealth" and benefits that come with it, while in reality, if you are not one of "the chosen ones" you are disposable, and your voice will be shut down if you speak. This is being done even with core values as "share, discuss, bring ideas to life" and "give and accept feedback". Oh, not to forget, as per the internal policies, you can't give feedback unless you requested approval to do so from the person the feedback is given to, so there is a core value that just flies out the window. The idea of all being shared by the community while the "chosen" few are considered several classes above is what made communism bad, and here is where the comparison stands. The mentality might be accepted in other cultures, but keep in mind that Romania is a country deeply scared by this behaviour, and it is still fighting to get rid of it in social life even after almost 30 year after the Revolution, so don't bring it into the professional lives as well, and actually live your policies and values. Progressing into the company is almost impossible unless you become a "besty" with the right person. Evaluation is not done on facts or on actual skills and the job description that you are hired for, but is something fully subjective, based on 2-3 feedbacks from colleagues that might know or not know your tasks, and is focused only on the core values that you are supposed to follow, even if the "non-existent" but always present management is ignoring. If you want a place where you can shine, improve your skill and actually be appreciated for what you know and you can do, this is not the place to do it.

Pros

A potential inroad into large client companies (Leave Cognizant ASAP) You aren't unemployed.

Cons

It's a body shop. Clients will view you accordingly. Contractors cannot be trusted with most tasks. You must be siloed (No room for growth) so you don't break anything. Your actual job is to fulfill gaps in the client's grunt work even if out of scope. If you don't, the hammer falls from client and Cognizant. Wages well below industry standards. 1% annual raises only exist because legally they must exist. Takes full advantage of H-1B slave system, where employees' families and homes will be thrown into a furnace if you aren't keeping Cognizant happy no matter what. Employees are complacent in their slavery. Management is just happy to get their extra crumbs and will reinforce the bad culture. C-suite is opaque. If you are familiar with India's caste system you will understand how "lessers" are treated. This also happens in a literal sense, you aren't totally safe just because you are the favored skin tone. Takes full advantage of modern white collar culture. "Your racist actions aren't actually racist if you aren't Caucasian." Expect the uphill battle to be even more steep if you're not Southeast Asian. You will hunt for your own work most of the time. Cognizant is not helpful in any regard. They exist to skim off the top and nothing else.
