Pros
They pay 100% of further education. Work hours are great (people on average work a little over 40 hours). Flexible hours depending on manager. 4 weeks paternity leave. Big emphasis on inclusive culture.
Cons
Like many corporations, there is emphasis on gaming financial numbers to satisfy investors. The gaming numbers hurts efficiency and employee moral. Engineers layed off in an area where overall business is growing. If it’s not customer funded then always uncertainty if program will get cancelled temporarily or permanently with no notice. Rockwell Collins used to be a company with secure and stable jobs with ok pay. After got acquired by UTC, then merged with Raytheon, the culture has got worse, and there is less thought about employees. Consequently or not, business has been performing worse than was prior to merger. Engineers forced to focus on money more than innovation. Benefits have got worse.
