Pros
Flex Time, come in a little late, stay a little late to get your 10 hours in M-Th Less layers of management on 2nd shift, a much more relaxed atmosphere. 2nd shift differential is an additional $1.00, but only for physical time worked (they don't explain this to you, you find out when seeing your check after being on a weeks long vacation) 3 weeks vacation available from day one, no need to accrue time for vacation. You can purchase an additional week of vacation where they take a few bucks out of your paycheck out of the year to equal 1 weeks worth of pay and that's pretty nice. You also have what's called "Floating Holidays" for additional vacation time. Your vacation time does not roll over into the following year, use it or lose it.
Cons
No training structure, new hires come in, sit and watch someone else doing the work.. Some of the people they watch have only been with the company for a short time and can't actually train anyone because they don't have the "train the trainer" certification which allows someone for fill out and verify training via a OJT sheet (On the Job Training) I'd say the #1 reason new hires leave within the first 2 months is out of mental boredom because of this. Some of the lowest pay in our industry compared to other companies, as of writing this, they just raised the starting pay to $17.50, people that have been here for 3+ years just lost all of their merit and are now making entry level wages, this has resulted in a lot of people leaving because we're in a unique time period that the employers had to step up their pay game to get people in the door. Moving up in the company comes down to politics, if you are liked, you do well and move up. If you aren't liked, your quality and performance are overlooked and you stay right where you are. This results in people with a lack of skills put into tech positions and our scrap rates go up and processes aren't followed. Supervisors are pretty nice with good intentions, but the people they answer to seem to have a serious disconnect with the day to day on the floor. Planner doesn't seem to have things under control so there are days where we have no new work starts, I've used most of my vacation time this year based on having no work. This makes for an extremely looooong day. Vaccine Mandate, I'm vaccinated, but they should never enforce something like this. Personal choice, lots of people have left from this and by Dec 8th, many more will as well, long term talent will be gone and they really don't care. I'm still here because it works out for my family schedule. If I found a place with the same hours and distance for just $3+ more bucks an hour, I'd be gone in 2 weeks..
