Pros
Insurance was alright PTO (you’re going to want it) and sick leave is generous WFH at times People are generally nice as individuals Could pretty much wear what you wanted
Cons
Where to begin... Most teams are very political, raises and promotions are promised but not always given. People that are obvious underachievers are promoted to very senior positions. It’s all about who you know, and it’s every man for himself. Most managers micromanage. Employees work the best when a manager is not breathing down their neck. There are way too few bathrooms. Be prepared to walk to another building at times. No joke. The on-site cafe is expensive for what you get. Some teams are worked like slaves, especially people here on visas. Lots of work is driven from non-Cary sites by program directors who have no idea what they’re doing or how things in Cary are ran. They don’t tell you this before you start but personal investment trading is heavily restricted and is so much so that it’s pretty much impossible to actively invest or have any say in your own personal trades. Layoffs and talk of restructuring have become daily discussion topics among employees. Grad program is a total joke. The London experience may be nice but you’ll always be “a grad” to everyone and that isn’t a great title to have years after the program has ended. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from DB Cary.
