Pros
Ethics and Safety are top priorities. Great place for a career stop to get some experience for your career, depends on the division. Good career opportunities if you live in the right place and can get results. Culture - they try to do the right thing
Cons
Highly political environment - watch what you say. Don't challenge the status quo - you will be labeled. Culture was great and remnants of our past still exist from our best days under Sandy Cutler. Today, it's all marketing messaging. Senior leadership have become experts of "spin" and managing cost. Senior leadership does not know how to grow businesses - experts at preserving status quo. Attempts to change are more marketing and spin that substance. No accountability in Cleveland HQ - work there! Compensation and benefits are better almost everywhere else. Too many takeaways in these areas in the last two years. Advancement based on "who you know" vs. "what you know and what you've done" - loyalty is more important than results. Bureaucracy makes it hard to get anything done Company tries to home grow everything to save money using internal "subject matter experts" that are not experts in their field - promotions based upon loyalty and not expertise - a title does not make you an expert. New employees struggle - great ideas and experience from outside the company, senior leadership shuts down the ideas - "not invented here" mentality.
