Pros

* Safety is taken seriously * There are opportunities for advancement * Performance based pay raises * Work is not back-breaking or overly intense * Majority of the people are friendly * Relaxed dress code aside from required PPE * Eaton will not fire you unless you outright refuse to do any work, ignore all safety standards, or harass fellow employees * There is a annual bonus based on how much the plant contributes to the corporation (you do not get this bonus every year, only when the facility is doing very well) * The company holds fairly regular events that are fun for the employees (annual Christmas party, Easter Egg Hunt for employee's families, Gatlinburg trip, and more) * 2 weeks of vacation for your first 4 years of employment. On your 5th year you receive an extra week of vacation, and I believe on your 15th you receive another. There is also an opportunity to "buy" an extra week of vacation that many are using. As far as time off goes, Eaton is very flexible. I have watched people take a day off with a 5 minutes before shift call-in with no vacation time left get let off easy and they are still employed (don't make a huge habit of it, but they are relatively relaxed once you are an established employee). * Eaton offers an education assistance plan where, if your degree is relevant to Eaton, they will help pay for your degree.

Cons

* General attitude of the workers toward the management (not supervisor, just the office management) is extremely negative * Upper management (Production Manager, Plant Manager, HR Manager, etc.) rarely seem to be on the same page with their planning. * Decisions made by management seem to go back and forth, don't expect a change or improvement to last forever. * This is one of those places where if you do your job really well, you will be asked to do others jobs as well, and without extra pay. For those who perform well, you will be asked to take on more responsibility than those who are not performing, and you will not be paid more for it (line lead is a volunteer position, you may also be asked to be a back-up for someone who is in a higher paid position without receiving said higher pay). * This review is being written during the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing employees are very upset about right now is when we hear about other companies giving their employees hazard pay, meanwhile our retirement savings are no longer being matched, we did not receive any real help when we were laid off for a week (not due to safety, due to a lack of work), and our raises we are supposed to have received (based on performance) have been postponed until next year, and we will not be receiving back-pay. While there are companies that are treating their employees worse, Eaton prides itself on being a leader in how it treats its employees. We expected better.

Pros

whelp, their hiring. So if you're looking for an entry level position, they've got them open

Cons

Where do I start? If your goal is to make a tangible impact, change things for the better, or grow a modern career, look elsewhere. Stifling Red Tape: The company is drowning in administrative bloat and ancient, worn-out processes. It is nearly impossible to implement meaningful improvements because every minor change is strangled by bureaucracy. The organization simply lacks the capability to scale effectively. (They still haven't fully implemented Bussman, who they acquired more than a decade ago) Short-Sighted Leadership: Upper management is entirely hyper-focused on hitting short-term quarterly metrics at all costs, completely sacrificing long-term strategy and sustainable operational health. Subpar Compensation & Benefits: The base salary is hardly competitive with the current market. The benefits package is remarkably weak—health insurance options are disappointing, and you start with a meager two weeks of vacation. Zero Performance Incentive: There is no financial upside for regular engineers. Bonus potential is completely locked away until you reach a "manager of managers" level, leaving the actual individual contributors with no skin in the game. If you are a paper-pusher who thrives in a rigid, stagnant environment, you will love it here. If you want to build the future, go somewhere else.
