The pay is weak, the leadership has mostly gotten there by attrition because almost of the quality accountants leave before getting there. They try to sell the low pay by offering work from home and the potential wage growth with being promoted, but then they never let you work from home, and the odds of making it to the point where the money is good is slim. Plus, to get promoted, you have to move all around the country. Management is incentivized to get you promoted, so bad advice is constantly being given to try to push you out the door so that they look better. Most of the leadership doesn’t even understand basic accounting (having to explain debits and credits to the assistant controller was a real experience). Their policies around dress code and hair/tattoos is something straight out of the 1960s. I regularly saw people who had worked there for 15+ years get fired for no reason other than that the GM didn’t like them. Overall, unless your dream is to be a controller for enterprise someday, this place won’t help you further your career, other than being a line on your resume. If you’re a self respecting accountant, look elsewhere.
