Great place to work IF you are willing to get paid peanuts the 1-2 yr. Then seniority kicks in and you can make more. - City Driver FedEx Freight Employee Review

Pros

Very good training programs as well as structure for being a non-union company. Fairly professional overall. Long term potential if one is so driven. Good hours for CDL drivers. And acceptable pay after about two years.

Cons

This is the most structured CDL Driver job I've had in my ten years. Very much like the military. However, there were a couple bad apple managers that I thought about stabbing in the eye with a screw driver every day. They have since been fired. I later found out that there were very harsh and unrealistic expectations being required from them - thus, causing them to act like slave drivers at times. As the old saying goes, "Crap rolls downhill."

Pros

- Insurance benefits are offered to part time employees - Pay is sufficient based on being part time - Management will send some communications regarding big picture matters - There is some leniency regarding calling out of work

Cons

- The requirement to maintain insurance is becoming more difficult - Employees are not paid the same rate simply based on tenor rather than qualifications - Management will rarely, if ever, address direct employee concerns - Leniency for calling out only seems to apply for certain employees - There is no standard of training or written expectations readily available once hired
