Good pay and people, no flexibility or progress - Anonymous employee Fidelity Investments Employee Review

Pros

Decent base pay and very competitive benefits, seemingly more stability than public companies. I work with good people who are collaborative and pleasant to work with, and there’s room for growth if you are good at your role.

Cons

Outdated technology and processes driven from out of date senior leadership and middle management who lack the technical skills and background to push forward. Ironically this issue will only be compounded by the recent decision to remove WFH choice and return to office, eliminating the work life balance many have grown accustomed to. Mid level managers and senior leadership who spend their days in meetings and “networking” in office will certainly stay until retirement, but fresh gen z and millennial technology talent with the expertise of this new world will abandon the rigid structure for greener pastures as soon as the economy recovers. Right now everyone is too scared of being laid off to speak up, but the market will recover one day.

Pros

Benefits including profit sharing and bonuses are great. The breadth of this company provides a great opportunity to try out different career paths or boost your current one.

Cons

In my current role, I am working overtime more often than I'd like with recognition that seems to only go so far until it sizzles out. That may be tied to the size of the company itself, where promotions work in a "trickle down" manner.
