Pros
Siome management are considerate of the rank and file, look for the best for promotions, and care about personal issues as long as they don;t affect job performance for a long period of time. Other upper management doesn't care about employee morale at all. their only concern is production and quality. the problem is, without good employee morale, neither production nor quality is all that high; it suffers because staff doesn't care about pleasing their supervisors. All they care about is being the best in the department because that will determine their performance reviews. The best performer gets the highest review and raise.
Cons
Cons were mentioned in the Pros. Another con is the employee contributions to health, life, and disability insurance are extremely high. Technological equipment is far from up-to-date, at least 5-6 years behind. Thus, everything is slow. Much of my work involved internet research along with downloading federal policy documents, which was very slow. The PC not only slowed down, it often crashed, forcing me to bring it up and download it again and often again. I had to print the documents because the PC was so slow, reading the articles online was far too frusratring. Print-outs made the articles far more easy to interpret, and the material was difficult enough to interpret for dissemination and teaching staff the basics of Medicare and Medicaid policy.
