Pros
In my experience, the company do have a genuine interest in developing their people and encouraging personal development and growth. This is very encouraging! My immediate management are also excellent, and are fully supportive of working to the job and objectives - there's a great deal of responsibility placed on me to manage my own work and certainly no clock watching or micromanagement...
Cons
There's a big failure to invest internally within the company, and it's hard to believe this isn't causing us problems in delivering business. It also makes it very hard to get things done when most staff are expected to book their time to either a customer account or an internal project - it should be recognised that we can work smarter than this. There's also too much focus on sales and bids, and not enough attention paid to developing the services and offerings that will actually allow us to deliver the business we have won.
