Will hire, only for projects. No pro active hiring. Will pay good, depending on the client.

No tools for career management.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess it depends which part of the business you join. Where I am (in one of the countries), we recruit in response to long-term business need - not just in response to projects - although you can imagine in a business that is growing as fast as we are, sometimes we do need to take on people at short-notice to meet customer needs. Where I am, we take on over 100 graduate entrants a year, and a similar number of Apprentices (i.e. school leavers) - these are intended to support our long-term growth. Career Management is a two-way street - if you rely solely on HR or your line manager, you won't get very far - you also have to take some responsibility for your career development... & those that do, do find a lot of doors opening for them, right across our business.
