Pros

Gartner has a great name and is well respected in the market. Very positive experience with the recruiters - who are highly professional and very pleasant to work with. The academy is second to none - great training and the trainers were all highly successful AEs before taking on this role. The saying "those who cannot do, teach" certainly doesn't go here.

Cons

Sales Managers are chosen from a pool of successful AEs who have completed a management program. They may have been successful as an AE but this in no way, shape or form makes them suitable to be a sales leader. My team had filed multiple complaints with HR but nothing came out of that. Your performance is heavily dependent on the patch you receive; if your patch is healthy and contains many multi-year contracts, there is no reason you can't be successful. If your patch is filled with renewals and unhappy clients, it is highly unlikely that you'll be successful and you'll make your base salary. AEs with healthy patches take all the credit for their success; they can spend their time on finding new clients and will 'offload' their bad clients onto AEs that carry lower Contract Value (CV) (likely because they had a bad patch to start with); this sets these AEs up for another year of cancellations. The office is spacious and new but the commute to/from London is horrible. In ESMB there is no opportunity to work from home; you need RVP approval for this! - If you are from elsewhere in Europe, say bye to working from 'home' between Christmas and NYE.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
