Pros

Dealt with Covid-19 fairly well Offered bonuses quarterly to sales to keep them motivated Opportunity to learn a great amount in a short space of time Seat at the table with some huge organisations at C Level Collaborative culture

Cons

Equal Pay Gap and promotions. Women are not paid the same, not promoted at the same rate and generally feel like second class citizens to the men. Set in the past. Gartner is operating as I imagine it did when it first started up 30+ years ago. Suits are still warn in the office every day, there is a very hierarchical approach in terms of leadership. Global company no ability to work abroad. Blocking. You need to achieve a minimum amount of Winners Circles to progress your career. This can of course be superseded if the company has a gap that they need to fill and they will brush that under the carpet. For everyone else, if you want it, you’ll need to pray hard as these days 2 back to back winners is a tall order. It’s a one way street in my opinion. Management - some good ones, some poor ones, like any sales floor. Managers at Gartner are structure and process driven. The ones who really want to progress, toe the corporate line, never challenge, spin out the corporate diatribe and basically sell their souls ( getting treated like whipping boys by VPs in the process ) in the hope of progressing. Culture - supportive on the surface, but when it comes down to it, they couldn’t care less about individuals. There’s a fanfare when you walk in, but you’re slipped out through the back door. Very rarely ask how you are ( even during Lockdown when times were very tough for most people ). They only care about the next deal.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
