Pros

Good base salary, and commissions on closed deals

Cons

A poor professional working experience. Days before starting I was informed on email, rather than call, that my manager was leaving and someone else I hadn't met/spoken to would be my manager. Throughout first year, myself and another new joiner were not offered 1-1s because "it wasn't worth managers and VP of Sales' time". Instead we had joint sessions with our manager and VP of Sales. Constant changes to sales strategy and approach meant no one in the team had consistent success, and no one in my sales team of 7 hit target in 2023. VP of Sales lost their job, and someone else moved internally to replace them, bringing about more changes. Our Manager could not manage upwards and downwards, becoming a corporate soundpiece for the VP and Regional VP. No real, honest, human conversations took place to address individual and team issues, with problems left unaddressed hoping they would resolve/go away. The market in our team proved to be unsellable by the "sellable criteria" created by leadership, resulting in members of the team leaving. Gartner could have been a great place to work if placed into a different division/team.

Pros

Work life balance, though in late 2026 will be required to go back to office. Full autonomy for your own schedule.

Cons

Absolutely no path for growth.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
