Pros

The people here are everything; I've never met a coworker I haven't gotten along with. You can ask anyone questions and they are happy to help. No micromanaging, flexible hours/ remote work environment, and opportunities to grow when you put in the work!

Cons

You have to wear a lot of hats in this role. There are no "slow" days and there is always something more you could be doing. Days are filled with meetings, so it's often necessary to log on in the evening to catch up on emails/ admin work. Most reps do not hit quota and are not paid out 100%.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review and provide your valuable feedback. I am grateful for you and the hard work you’re doing to grow our business. It’s obvious that you care about and genuinely like your coworkers recognizing the genuine, kind people that we have here at Glassdoor, yourself included. We have worked hard this year as we’ve expanded our sales team. We are listening to the challenges you face and want to create impactful in-person and remote learning opportunities so that we can all grow together and succeed. Our sales leaders are focused on ensuring that you have the tools and resources needed for success without micromanaging, balancing the resources and autonomy our smart, driven people desire. You’re right, “putting in the work,” is key and we’ve seen a number of internal promotions this year by people who leaned in, learned, and worked hard to achieve. We have asked a lot of our sales team this year and you are wearing many hats. It was our goal to decrease the amount of non-sales activities expected, but we have not accomplished it, nor have we given up. Please know, that I am keenly aware of the problem and am committed to working with your leaders and our cross functional partners to improve the areas of frustration that are impeding success. I am listening and working hard to make change that will have positive impact. We may not be able to resolve all of the issues, but we will work diligently to reduce distractions such as billing problems. The pace is fierce in Glassdoor Sales and we do not experience much slow time, but we do want you to have time to breathe and enjoy your personal life. To create more space in the day, perhaps there is an opportunity for you to speak with your manager, or to me about how we can support you in prioritizing and perhaps decreasing meeting expectations. Finally, though there are Reps who do not hit quota and do not receive 100% of their pay-out, there are many reps who are exceeding their sales targets and receiving generous payouts as a result. As the Interim Head of Sales, I want to see more of our Salespeople exceed their sales goals which is why I am grateful to know about the obstacles you face. Thank you again for your candor and your hard work. Please reach out to me directly on Slack or by email, valerie.roush@glassdoor.com if there is more I can do to support you. - Val Roush, Interim Head of Sales

Pros

The benefits and culture were probably the best I've ever had. Even better than the benefits were the people I worked with. I enjoyed coming into work and doing my job and really stood behind the company tag line of helping people find jobs they love.

Cons

During covid things started getting bad. Like many other companies layoffs came around and how the company handled those were terrible. You show up one day and next thing you know you lose access and cryptic email and then your'e gone. This happened again in 2025. They brought in person whose job it was to basically get people to leave. They didn't care about the content on the site, or any of the efforts in place to promote integrity and transparency and instead just wanted to shove AI down everyone's throat. What's sad is that Glassdoor was once a great company that I was proud to say I worked for. Now it's just like everywhere else, AI, AI, AI and trying to get people to quit before the next round of layoffs.
