Pros

- Great sense of comradere within the store teams -25% staff discount -Oppurtunities for progression are there provided you are flexible to relocate

Cons

- Stores are understaffed and over worked constantly. - Salaries for management positions inadequate to competitors - Managers doing the same jobs all paid at differant rates , this is supposed to be down to the persons level of experience and salary band in differant stores , however less experienced Department managers have been offered higher salaries to not leave the company , while experienced DMs who want to stay and grow are struggling to get a €1000 increase in other stores. -Managers expected to manage the store while doing the work of a sales advisor to make up for lack hours available to use. -Incentive scheme is pretty much impossible to achieve , No Christmas bonus for staff or management Is extremely demotivating over the busy Xmas period. - Overtime is expected of management but unpaid. ( always over the extra 5 hours required of you during busy periods in your contract), no work life balance encouraged here. - Store working conditions are unhealthy and unsafe, this has been highlighted in the GES survey numerous years and still teams are working in unhealthy temperatures in a lot of stores. Constant issues with air con that have yet to be solved by the Area team. - Bully tactics used by certain area team members on a regular basis to insight fear into the store management teams disguised as feedback .I experienced being screamed at / foul language has been used on a number of occasions with area team members, this is not feedback , this is a scare tactic and it does not motivate anyone and we do not get paid enough to have to listen to this. - Communication of information from the area team to the store teams are often unclear and lead to confusion. Area team are very rarely all on the same page and don’t seem to communicate very well with each other. - HR seems to not care about why talented people are leaving at an alarming rate.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We appreciate you mentioning our great teams and the progression opportunities H&M has to offer. However, it seems you have been experiencing lots of frustration in the last moments of your employment; we understand that there may sometimes be some issues that you haven't been entirely happy with. We encourage an open door policy where you should be able to discuss any matters with your management, in line with our values and global leadership expectations. However, if you felt that you couldn't resolve these issues, there was always the possibility for you to use the more formal procedure... Once again, thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback.

Pros

Job had potential growth when company was in a healthy state, ability to move into different career paths internally, pay is competitive, discounts on clothes a plus

Cons

Company lacks ability to adapt and evolve with market which has resulted in poor sales, mass layoffs, constant restructuring of positions, putting people in positions with limitedexperience and setting them up for failure consistently, poor leadership, lack of accountability and ownership, bonus structure poor, work life balance non existent if you are in an operations role.
