Good for a foot in the door in call center industry, terrible for long run - Customer Service Representative H&M Employee Review

Pros

Will hire literally anyone for call center reps, even with no relevant experience. This can be a great start for someone looking to enter the industry. Vacation and sick time are reasonable as well.

Cons

Turnover is RIDICULOUS because they hire high school students, teens, people who they can lowball in terms of hourly rate. They call of constantly, very few career minded agents in this call center. The DRAMA, GOSSIP, and FAVORITISM are an absolute nightmare. It can really feel like high school. They lure you in with the semi decent benefits, but pay/compensation is nothing compared to other Chicago contact centers, and you are lucky to get a 25 cent raise a year. Even taking on a new role/responsibility isn't likely to get you anything more - maybe an extra 1$ per hour if your lucky. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. AT ALL. Schedules constantly change, they are open 24 hours. Micromanagement is constant - you will never be left alone to simply do your job. Out of the 3 call center jobs I've had, H&M is by FAR the worst.

Pros

Benefits even for part-timers is a huge win! Sick leave, vacation, and community days. Nice management and really friendly coworkers. Decent employee discount. Diverse and welcoming environment.

Cons

Very stressful work environment considering the low pay. Poorly managed and operated. They clearly try to run lean and do as much work with as few people as possible. Very unprofessional overall and a lot of greenwashing.
