Pros

1) Good working environment 2) New office in Malaysia nearby the TRX tower 3) Opportunity to work in a professional settings

Cons

1) Bad management 2) Poor rating system on agents that were caused by dissatisfaction due to poor HSBC's systems. Later, you'll need to take responsibilities for the error on the systems, despite you were complimented by the customers. 3) Salary mismanagement to staffs, including missing allowances and sometimes monthly salary 4) Dozens of ex-staffs were not compensated due to being ill-treated by HSBC Malaysia, including failure on the behalf of payroll and HR department to fulfill the staff's salary and allowances 5) After escalation to higher management, problems still persist in HSBC Malaysia and no actions were taken to prevent missing salaries and allowances of staffs. Some complaints were ignored by the higher management 6) ZERO allowances on transportation costs, and since the parking isn't completed in TRX tower, you'll have to pay expensive parking fees and take shuttle buses to the building one hour earlier. 7) HSBC Malaysia gave a lot of promises to staffs, yet it remained as 'promises', nothing more than fake hopes. Ex: They promised the staffs for flood assistance allowance to those affected by severe flood in December 2021 and furniture allowance for those working at home, yet it was nothing more than fake promises. 8) You were taught to show empathy to your customers, yet as staffs, sometimes you were not given one by the upper management. 9) You may be offered the same salary as those without a proper Diploma, despite you having few years of experience with a Bachelor Degree or Master. Clearly, HR in HSBC Malaysia is taking advantage against its staffs by prohibiting staffs to share their salaries amongst peers or group members so that the HR could benefit, rip off your worth, efforts and experience by paying you less and saves their costs. 10) Some loyalists within HSBC might try to change your mind by not leaving the job. In fact, there are hundreds if not thousands of better paying jobs than in HSBC Malaysia. Never get discouraged to find a better one! 11) High manpower turnover in HSBC Malaysia. Expect to see some of your peers leaving in few months due to poor management and benefits despite the bank having almost 3 trillion dollars worth of assets.

Pros

Good, smart colleagues in other offices.

Cons

At times, decisions appeared to prioritize individual objectives over team needs, which affected collaboration and morale. Greater consideration of team perspectives and shared goals would help build trust and engagement. I observed instances where expectations communicated to the team were not consistently reflected in leadership actions. Greater consistency between stated values and day-to-day decisions would strengthen credibility and confidence within the team.
