Pros
Apparently, they're quite good at technology, but the company in the UK is struggling at the moment
Cons
As a Brit, you cannot possibly be prepared for the culture shock of working at Huawei. They say it takes 6 months to get used to it - I didn't last that long. Everything from the neverending 'ChinEnglish' emails sent from China HQ which are completely unintelligible, to the overlapping and unclear reporting lines to the complete lack of interest in staff welfare, let alone opinons. This is hierarchy like you've never experienced before, where you are expected unquestioningly to follow the instructions of your superiors. Free thought and creativity are not welcomed. Official advice to new employees is not to come and think you can make changes, but just to get used to the way Huawei works. Other irritations include being given out of date technology and second hand mobile phones (yes really!) and ridiculously low travel cost limits which will lead you searching for last minute budget hotel options. Only accept a job at Huawei if you really have no other option ....
