Pros

If you have a passion for coding, are looking for a data-oriented role, and are competitive this could be for you. Good work-life balance

Cons

Horrible practice lead. Was extremely rude to me during the layoff process and made me feel completely discarded. If you're looking for the Mckinsey of life science consulting, then this place is for you. It was an extremely competitive, cliquey, and "favoritism" environment. During the first 6 months of my job there, they made it very clear who was doing well and who wasn't, giving out cash-based awards for employees doing well on their projects and announcing them in front of the whole practice. During onboarding training, coworkers were extremely competitive and didn't help one another understand how to use the data analyses and code. I was told going into this job that SQL would be involved, not that it would be the majority of my work. If you're looking for strategy consulting, then look for another company. The Majority of the practice is under 30 so if you're looking for good career role models this isn't the place. Consulting is about "people skills" but I have never worked with such immature, unwelcoming, and socially inept people. In-office culture feels like a college library, not a corporate office.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
