Pros

- High salary in terms of Bangladesh standard. - 100% hybrid work environment. The job offers a high salary based on Bangladesh standards. Additionally, the work environment is 100% hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and in-person work.

Cons

The company's work environment and work-life balance are unsatisfactory, with employees working from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. The management in Dhaka appears to be ill-equipped to onboard new personnel. The HR representative displays a lack of respect for employees and poor time management skills. As an HR professional, it is essential to possess people skills. The organization follows a manual scrum methodology from 2010 and runs scrum teams manually. To improve the situation, the company needs to consider hiring a project manager (PM) locally instead of having a PM in the UK who is out of touch with the work culture in Bangladesh and cannot manage a team effectively. The PM from the UK, who lacks Agile certification and people management skills, is running an Agile team, which is concerning. The team syncs are inadequate, and the project manager, scrum master, QAs, and developers are always in conflict. The QA team based in India seems disinterested in the work of others. The Scrum Master appears to be more of an assistant to the Project Manager and is resistant to change. The organization should prioritize adopting new and better practices to improve its performance.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
