Pros

Infosys provides the best training that you can ever undergo (My personal Experience). Less stressful work so you can learn other technologies side by side if you wish. Infosys provides Good facilities and has a good infrastructure to maximize the use of all possible options.

Cons

Infosys has had a non-linear growth in terms of resources. In my opinion, infy is struggling majorly with people management. The middle layer functioning proves to be a threat to make a professional company look like a government bureaucratic company. Management still believes in seniority and does not value performance and capability above seniority. The compensation is not up to the standards of the IT industry in developed countries. There is no guideline from senior management as to where the company is heading. It feels as if the transparency for which the company was proud at one point in time is lost now. The freedom for people to work in their area of interest is very very limited. Resources are forced to work against their will because of a lack of support and opportunities from their management. The middle managers are completely theoretical and process-oriented. Infy has made up so many processes that managers are unable to think beyond the box - out of those outlined processes. Processes eat away most of the time with no real value gained. It feels like an employee is completely detached from its management. Also, the quality of resources has degraded drastically. Proper allocation of resources is not managed.

Good learning opportunities – Access to internal learning platforms, certifications, and training programs (especially for freshers). Global exposure – Opportunities to work with international clients and global delivery teams. Structured processes – Well-defined policies, documentation, and governance. Work-life balance (project dependent) – Many teams offer reasonable working hours. Employee benefits – Health insurance, paid leaves, and wellness initiatives. Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Cons

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
