Pros
So I went to college and then did a coding bootcamp, so my perspective is probably different from someone fresh out of a CS degree. - Lots of investment into their hires. Right away they start training you in technologies like: Java, Python, SQL, Selenium, etc.... And you are paid your full salary the whole time! - 26 Days Off during the year - including holidays & PTO (not including sick time) - Allowing for remote work during COVID - The opportunity to work for incredible companies as a consultant like: Cummins, Verizon, Microsoft, etc. - So many internal groups & people to make connections with - Very solid starting salary, nothing outstandingly crazy -- but *much* better than you could get at an entry-level role outside of tech
Cons
- Communication is not always the greatest - Internal websites are bloated and confusing -- easy to forget where & how to look for certain key pieces of information - Some trainers tend to treat you like a kid in school -- micromanage - Can be a LONG wait to get on an actual project after training
