It depends on which team and which manager you work with. Unfortunately, I wasn't under a great manager. Had been micromanaged, experienced a lot of finger-pointing as long as there are issues, had been bullied being an Asian man, ... the manager I had lack leadership quality and lack vision. Never felt psychologically safe under my manager. I went to see psychologists, and at the end, had to make a decision to leave the company for another opportunity after 5 years of service due to mental health issue. Got rejected several times for promotion by my manager even though I demonstrated great quality of work, demonstrated leadership quality and even though I am perfectly bilingual (French/English). I stayed stagnant as a junior analyst for 5 years, until I left the company for a competitor, in which I see a much clearer path for career advancement. Notice that being an Asian man, you will never go far in your career no matter how hard you work, even though you are well qualified for upper senior roles. You will notice that there is no asian men in the senior manager or vp/svp roles.
