Pros
- Stability - Respected brand ...genuinely cannot think of anything else. Maybe large budgets for things if you can unravel the red tape around it? I honestly had low expectations about the quality of work and culture of a large bank led by a team of incredibly old school conservative people. That's exactly what I got. Use the role as a means to an end if you absolutely must but if you can, just avoid this company altogether.
Cons
- Culture - Old archaic leadership - Red tape around EVERYTHING...nothing is as simple as it should be - Not innovative - Most middle level managers are horrible - Work life balance is not a priority for most people - Lots of "sheeple" - Promotion path from VP is murky and convoluted - Technology is so scaled back for security concerns that I feel like my skills have worsened - MANY excuses to avoid giving teams raises and increasing compensation year over year to keep up with inflation - Low quality of tech work - Lots of offshore support
