Pros

None since being acquired by AKKR

Cons

After being acquired by AKKR, there have been well over 240 people "let go" since mid to end of Sept this year including the entire executive team. AKKR is a horrible company who gobbles up smaller companies, lays off a bunch of people to "bare bones" employees and then sells off each module/area piece to piece. They do not care about the amount of work or effort that was put in by SciQuest employees and its a total shame b/c i really liked working at SciQuest. I would NEVER work for a company acquired by AKKR and unfortunately SciQuest is one of them. I left on my own after SciQuest was acquired as i saw the writing on the wall.

I’m sorry to hear that you have decided to end your relationship with SciQuest, just as we are beginning our most successful chapter. Exciting things are happening here, and it’s because of the work of our exceptional teams. There are several inaccuracies in your note, however, that need to be addressed. Your assumption regarding the number of individuals who are no longer at SciQuest is radically overstated. Additionally, AKKR has never broken up and sold “modules.” They are known and respected for developing successful, industry-leading companies. SciQuest is one of those companies, and we are collectively building something great.

Pros

The people - that is, the actual people doing all the work. I met some of my favorite people ever working here, and it's the only reason I don't entirely regret the experience.

Cons

Some of the worst leadership hires I've seen. And when things didn't work out? They fired them and somehow found even more incompetent replacements, all while pushing out the brilliant people who actually kept JAGGAER afloat. If Vista Equity Partners wants ROI, they should probably start with the outdated tech (don't get me started on "JAI" lol). Or maybe an actual GTM strategy? But no, surely a few more bad exec hires, layoffs, and outsourcing rounds will help you on the next Gartner Magic Quadrant. Fingers crossed!
