Pros

Most employees have said that they don't feel micro-managed. The benefits are also decent for those employees who work out of the HQ (Cary, NC) office.

Cons

Senior leadership, from the CEO on down, is socially inept, to put it nicely. There is an elitist mentality in which the executives don't view the "common laborer" (i.e. anyone who isn't an exec) as being able to approach them. At internal awards ceremonies and even annual President's Club trips, you'll see the execs keeping to their own tables and essentially shunning anyone who attempts to socialize with them. Talk about having zero interest in knowing the pulse of your company, not to mention the lack of appreciation for the people who work so hard to line your pockets. Strategically, the company doesn't look beyond 1-2 quarters, which reflects in some of the acquisitions they've made, of late. In the past, I've had CEOs who may not be the best leaders, but who make up for that by surrounding themselves with people who have different strengths and by staying connected to the employees who are "in the trenches". I've also had CEO's who are great visionaries but who don't excel in social situations...although they still make an effort. At Sciquest, however, you have a leadership team who lacks vision, social and leadership skills, and who appears to have no interest in changing any of this. I would recommend that you turn and run the other way if Sciquest comes calling.

Pros

The people - that is, the actual people doing all the work. I met some of my favorite people ever working here, and it's the only reason I don't entirely regret the experience.

Cons

Some of the worst leadership hires I've seen. And when things didn't work out? They fired them and somehow found even more incompetent replacements, all while pushing out the brilliant people who actually kept JAGGAER afloat. If Vista Equity Partners wants ROI, they should probably start with the outdated tech (don't get me started on "JAI" lol). Or maybe an actual GTM strategy? But no, surely a few more bad exec hires, layoffs, and outsourcing rounds will help you on the next Gartner Magic Quadrant. Fingers crossed!
