Pros

There is a lot of downtime between cycles and the frequently occurring housefires. The cafeteria is really great and very reasonable. They frequently have seasonal specials. You can order pies at Thanksgiving, a Corned beef dinner for St Pats! Every new employee gets a laptop.

Cons

You have to be in your position for 2 years before you can be promoted.  2 years is too long for most of the associate positions - especially when the job has been marginalized to the point of following written procedures - no thinking or learning required! Systems are antiquated and need improvement. They need to invest in some serious improvements

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
