Pros

Working a period in audit firm will help you in understanding the balance sheets in a very deep way, so you can easily find, after your experience in KPMG, a good place in another company for accounting job position. After your period as auditor you can apply for job position that otherwise, with your working seniority, you couldn't apply for.

Cons

In Kpmg you have low salary, your life/work balance is not good. At beginnings you have not a bonus earning at the end of the year and also you are not always paied for your extra-time hours in office. Ofte the senior staff of your team is not able to manage people.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
