Pros

Some of the most talented individuals in the pulp and paper industry

Cons

Pay is not even close to the industry standard. They expect you to work around the clock, including while you are on vacation. Upper management does not have a clue as to what is going on in the field and what it takes to be successful. There is no accountability, if you can’t do your job and they like you, they just promote you to keep you around. Poor communication across the company. Constantly restructuring. No real leadership or direction. Very flat organization, no way to move up unless you’re “in” with the management crowd.

Pros

The processes are some of the best and well aligned that I have ever seen in any other company that I've been at. The business is straight forward, uncomplicated and easy to understand how it works. Even when issues arise, they are relatively easy to solve. SAP is a big part of what makes the processes here so straightforward.

Cons

The managers (specifically in supply chain) absolutely ruin the experience of working here. I'm not sure that real leaders (directors, VPs, etc) know how their smaller managers act towards everyone else. It's hard to believe the people in these manager roles were actually hand selected to manage other people when they probably can't even manage their own households. They only thing they're really good at doing is intimidating their subordinates, taking behind their back, and making them feel alienated.
