Pros
The immense patriotic satisfaction of delivering a technologically advanced product to our military service branches to ensure continued national security dominance over all others. Working with a diverse group of talented people with different backgrounds to achieve a common goal. Having a pay scale, benefits package, and work schedule to fit your needs and quality of life. Plenty of camaraderie and activities, such as Christmas parties, softball teams, and recognition events.
Cons
The chance for layoffs when a program completes. Some of the contractor jobs are union, which means that performance reviews are basically non existent for highly motivated individuals. There are some slackers who should not be compared to other hard workers at all. Other than that, the union is a generally good thing for a voice in such a huge company of industry professionals. I'm neither for it or against it, I just roll with it because it's mandatory.
