Pros
In my short experience at Lockheed, I've been able to jump between a variety of projects that are vastly different from one another. It's easy to move around and try out research projects or work on mainline business. Many opportunities to work on cutting edge projects.
Cons
The work is difficult and you learn nearly completely through experience. There are not a lot of training opportunities so it really does take some time to feel comfortable with what you're working on. It also means that you have to put in a LOT of hours as an entry level employee, especially toward the end of the year.
