Pros
*Really smart engineers solving tough problems for customers. *Current Sr. Management for Test&Simulation is ok--few bloated egos or power trips but need to overcome last 10 years of bad management, fear, intimidation. *Summer hours and a generally good work location. Finally upgrading facilities. *No boredom.
Cons
*Way too many layoffs over the past few years have cut to the bone. A wave of retirements is coming and there isn't any planning for training or hiring their replacements. With that, constant fear of layoffs. *Work loads on all employees are extremely high. Everyone here for more than a couple years is burnt out. Not sustainable. *Lack of a common vision or execution. Feels like 'just make it through the day'. *Organizational goals are silo'ed. Functional group goals are at odds with one another. *Little room to advance. Late promotions, small promotions. Minimal career development.
