Pros

Nothing. They stole 4 months of maternity leave from me after I was already approved for it.

Cons

This company was sold to Cognizant, and the leaders of Nuance worked very hard to make the switch really easy for everyone, lined up so many things EXCEPT their pregnant employees maternity leave. I was with this company for 2 years and entitled to 20 weeks of fully paid leave. I submitted and was approved for my full leave 30 days before my due date. And 2 weeks later, was told the company is being transitioned to Cognizant and I was losing my leave/pay. The WEEK I was suppose to give birth. I cannot believe the nerve Nuance had to leave a pregnant employee hanging, with the rug ripped out from under me, in my very most vulnerable time in life. That was the roof over my head for 5 months. According to my delivery date this week, if my baby comes and I "Go on leave", Nuance is going to pay me a few WEEKS of pay- before the company switch - then I am no longer an employee for them and no longer able to finish my leave/receive my pay anymore. Absolutely heartless and terrible company move. I’ll be reaching out to the CEO Mark Benjamin and I will only update this review if a proper and ethical solution is given to me as owed.

Pros

The company offers excellent training and a thorough onboarding process, helping new hires feel well-prepared and confident. The small, close-knit teams foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where you never feel lost in the crowd. Employees take pride in the innovative technology and software being developed, which is recognized as impactful within the industry. (Note: The company was acquired by Microsoft to bring potential for future growth.)

Cons

While the company excels in many areas, there’s limited upward mobility, especially in certain career paths, which can be frustrating for those seeking advancement. Additionally, feedback from employees often feels like it’s not taken seriously, which can lead to disengagement when trying to influence change or improve processes.
