Optum, or UnitedHealth, is a big machine and to them, so are you - Principal Engineer Optum Employee Review

Pros

A paycheck, some good people there, and not much else.

Cons

Everything is a con, and a con job. You will live and breathe work. Try to take a vacation, I dare you. Never get sick. Employees are treated like machines without clear directives. Offshore employees are treated far worse. Their mantra is doing your life's best work, so sad. Think about it, insurance company and care provider all bundled together. Your doctor works for UnitedHealth Group. Most stressful, depressing, and life draining job I ever had. First job I have ever left with no other job lined up.
