Pros
As a leader, sometimes you step into a new role and despite all your due diligence, it's a dumpster fire. Things are broken in ways you wouldn’t have predicted. At OwnBackup, that wasn’t the case. From day one I was so impressed by the caliber of people and the levels of trust across teams. Not only that but the fundamentals of the business were so strong. 98% of customers are five stars, growing very fast in-spite of the pandemic, the company is really well funded, and there is a huge addressable market to expand into. When you’re at a company that is culturally strong and doubling y/y it provides an amazing platform to grow your career and attract top talent to join the team.
Cons
I'd say the con is that backup and recovery doesn't come across as the sexiest business on the surface. If you get past that and see the strategic importance of data; both as a company's greatest asset and greatest liability (PII, compliance, ransomware, lost, corrupted), you start to how big this category will become. It's applicable not just to Salesforce, but data stored in all sorts of different cloud platforms.
