Pros
High Growth. Majority of the Leadership is strong and cares. The team members and product(s) are amazing!
Cons
There are a number of strong "cons" even though there are many "pros." While working at Own, the team I was on all told me that Unlimited PTO has been being promised for years. But there are tons of excuses. "We are based in Israel, and have global operations, so this is difficult" is the primary one. Recently Own hired a Head of People. And the same excuses are passed along even though there are many companies based in Israel with global operations that have implemented Unlimited PTO. It's not that hard and they didn't need to reinvent the wheel. During 2020 there were many challenges. The company put on a decent 'face' on caring about the issues that were prevalent, such as Black Lives Matter. But, the CEO refused to publicly acknowledge the issues, or support them. In addition days like Martin Luther King Day, Juneteenth, and even election day are not company holidays. The team communicated that "we support you voting"...but do they if they don't actually give you the day off? Many team members said they would've really appreciated the day off for voting, and still would've worked! The disconnect on social issues is disappointing. The lack of diversity is also disappointing. It has improved recently (even though there was pushback from the leadership when the internal teams began 'campaigning' for these needed changes', but it has been in spite of the CEO vs. with his support. I will say that the CEO is very revenue focused and is strong on the business side, but very disconnected when it comes to anything not "directly related" to revenue. Yes many people are upset there isn't 401k. The more concerning item is when you get a promotion, or have been there longer than 4 years, you don't get additional stock. advice to management: See the cons.
