Pros
Personal experience with upper management and c-suite was really positive, and I could see real attempts to improve an atmosphere of pressure and strict deadlines. Flextime and work from home were both available. Good location, ok salary for the role. New business and culture initiatives are being launched, promoting inclusivity and community. If suited to a quiet, serious (old-fashioned?) work environment it's a good fit.
Cons
The office itself felt dated and tired. Canteen isn't a great price when so few other options are available in the area, but kitchenette drinks options are poor. It was hard as a new hire to feel welcomed and part of something. The office could feel very isolating, especially with the lack of guest wifi and tight restrictions on computer web browsing, made worse by the location's poor phone signal - being unable to be notified by home security devices or be contacted by doctors was frustrating. There was a lack of clear communication channels for issues with HR, benefits or pensions and emails would sometimes go unanswered. There are far too many clunky systems - though this is potentially improving soon.
