Horrible environment to work in - Scientist PPD Employee Review

Pros

flexible hours (at times) potential to work at home (at times)

Cons

The workplace culture is awful. Peers are constantly using profanity and insulting higher-ups in the lab. In addition, I'm in a constant struggle with someone at work. Yet, there isn't anyway to report a fellow employee anonymously. And if you do report someone, HR will only respond with "we can set up a meeting for you both to discuss the concern" which I personally believe doesn't really solve anything. Furthermore, analyst used to plan their own schedules based on a given worklist. This was recently revoked. Currently, supervisors create the schedules. And they can do so up until the last minute. For instance, I had planned to work from home one day, and an hour into my morning at home, I was told I must come to campus to perform testing. The testing I was told to perform takes a lot of preparation, and so I wasn't able to complete the work I had intended to. Also, if you're a company that claims to be flexible, how can you have a supervisor tell an employee which planned to work from home (and has the option to do so) to come in, after work had already started, to conduct an experiment which requires time consuming preps? Pay isn't great either.
