1. A very friendly place to work. Company recently started to provide a friendly work/personal balance. 2. Those who join tend to stay for a very long time and ultimately become close friends. 3. American Senior Management tends to listen.
Cons
1. Salary: probably one of the lowest in the industry. Average Business Development Manager earns $96k base in the NY/NJ Area. Expect to be paid $15 to $20k lower than that. 2. Some are able to adapt to the Japanese culture; some are not. Japanese tend to take good care of those who are able to adapt. 3. Japanese expats who are supposed to be window for Japanese management in Osaka tend to do whatever they are told to do by Japan rather than forewarning them of any negative consequences. This however could be a cultural thing where Japanese do not push back to their superiors unlike Americans, Europeans and Indians. 4. While American Senior management tends to listen, the same is not necessarily true about Japanese Senior management in Osaka. HQ in Osaka has the final say on many things.
