Pros

Stable Company, Wont Get Laid Off, Good Benefits, Everyone is friendly. The Managers at the store I work out genuinely care about me and want me to succeed. If you show them your a hard worker they will just let you do your thing without nagging you. Will only call you if they need you to help them build a display. The free stock they give is nice. Worked there 2 years and already got $1600 worth of stock without paying a penny for it. Top pay is decent for a non degree job. about $15 for Grocery Specialist. If your a hard worker and learn how to suck up to managers Part-Time doesn't mean bad hours. I been getting 36+ for 2 years, and occasionally get over-time but mostly the manager will just send you home early on your last day unless they forget to mention it (score!)

Cons

They start you out at minimum wage and only give 30cent raises IF your doing a good job. I have a friend who got a deduction. They keep you at part-time way to long even if your giving it 110% and showing your worth it. Take your evaluation with a grain of salt. They purposely shy you back from "role model" just so they dont have to pay you the extra bit. My past 4 evaluations have always been 1 point short of role model. They deduct this by knocking me down on stupid stuff like dress code. Seriously? Its a uniform I wear the same uniform everyday lol. Your required to work crazy shifts, and if you close up on your availability that means you wont get good hours. I had shifts where I don't leave till 1:30AM closing the store leveling and filling specials just to open in the morning in the dairy department at 6:AM. It's all based off oasis which doesn't care about such petty human activities such as sleep. Those pesky computers!

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
