Pros

Great co-workers, always friendly, willing to help/mentor, have made some great friends. Working on jet engines is always interesting. Average vacation time and medical benefits.

Cons

Lower than industry salaries. Have to suck up to the bosses to advance, performance and attitude isn't nearly as important as it should be. Company culture is lagging behind the times. Have some less than qualified managers who still believe it's okay to yell/swear/belittle employees (and no consequences when reported). A lot of attrition without hiring quick enough, results in a burnt out and overworked workforce for those who stay. Upper level management believes it's a privilege "to work for such a great company" and as a result lag behind in raises, standard promotions, and force unpaid overtime. BUREAUCRACY galore, definition of a huge company.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
