On the other end, there are some incredibly toxic and incompetent leaders who seem to have the top leadership in their pocket, and so they make everyone else miserable. My department suffered a lot because of such a leader. It didn’t just impact people, but also the business bottom line. And the company is losing money because of that leader.
I have seen other reviews, where some HR person responds empathetically and encourages people to come forward to them “so that your concerns can be addressed”. Please don’t do that. I have gone to that very person before I left the company, with mountains of documentation regarding the dysfunction, and the absolute disregard for ethical concerns. They flat out refused to take action, even after acknowledging that very serious mistakes were happening. They went on record to say that since nothing could be proven in a court of law, they “don’t need” to do a thing - so much for “Ohana”. Not just that, they didn’t keep my complaint anonymous, and the very people who I was complaining against, now had all power to openly punish me.
The top leadership is very much aware of this department and it’s troubles. They do nothing. At the same time they keep talking about how other FAANG companies are such awful places to work, while ignoring their own backyard. If I had any time to waste, I would make my experience public and let public opinion decide if Salesforce walks the walk.
I lucked out that I saw the true side of this company and how they dealt with issues. I was considered a great performer, and had no trouble finding another job with a higher scope of responsibility - so it’s completely not my loss to have had to leave Salesforce.
