Pros

Benefits are competitive, but at the expense of pay, raises, and bonuses--all of which compare poorly to industry norm's (try bottom 25%)

Cons

Sanofi-Genzyme is a worst case, plodding big-pharma mess. The thought that Genzyme could be the kernel around which a biotech leader could be built is laughable—by industry standards Genzyme is ancient history. More troubling is a low performing culture, no incentives, no motivation, and truly horrible management. There are forms and processes galore but no real adherence to the processes, nor to ethical standards— even common sense and common decency have left the building. The only thing good about employment here is it affords you time to actively search for another job.

Pros

Good benefits (9% 401k match, company car, solid insurance). Huge company with many therapeutic areas you can choose from. I like my coworkers.

Cons

Employee stock purchase plan is nice in theory, but stock has treaded water for many years. A very big company with lots of big pharma metrics to meet. Pay is maybe slightly below industry average.

Pros

Nice people to work with, not too pushy from direct supervisor

Cons

Pay is not as high as other big pharma, work culture starting to become toxic. We are starting to get more and more micromanaged in terms of needing to log exact work hours in the work computer. That becomes difficult when you are lab facing and not always on your laptop
