Pros

Work from home may have been the only pro of working at Schneider Electric.

Cons

Highest employee turnover I have ever seen. Schneider is able to attract and hire top talent, however they do not retain these employees and top performers stay with the company less than a year. Most FiSS managers were unqualified for their positions, scared to death of losing their jobs, and treated their employees horribly. My manager did not understand what I did and couldn't do the job herself if she had to. Workload would increase due to acquisitions, but headcounts would still be reduced. Jobs were regularly moved to Mexico. If the company could save a dollar by moving the job to Mexico, they did it. All of the tenured employees would talk about how great it used to be to work for Square D, but since becoming Schneider Electric it got worse every year. Those whose positions were not moved to Mexico were constantly in fear of losing their job. I saw people who had been with the company for 20,30+ years have their replacement flown in from Mexico so that they could train them. Really really sad place to work. Worst company culture and work environment I have ever been a part of. I have never seen so many unhappy people.

Pros

- Decent pay and good benefits - work truck with gas card -good experience

Cons

- management is disconnected from field employees - review process does not reflect employee performance since managers do not go out in field in order to properly assess job performance - poor communication which leads to chaotic project implementation - no standardization of necessary info for each customer site. You walk in completely blind each time you visit a customer you’ve never been to - safety is important, but corporate pushes redundant messaging so frequently i believe it has the opposite of the intended effect - forced to wear long sleeves FR shirts in hot weather even when you are not exposed to fire hazards any more than a standard office employee
