Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

If you are thinking of applying for that job ad, think again. Toxic work environment. So much bullying and office politics. NOC management is more interested in hunting and torturing whistleblowers than actually using their energy to improve things. NOC managers take all the credit (including financial bonuses) for wins even though planners do all the hard work but will be the first to blame, pin, humiliate and chuck you under the bus even when it's not your fault. High performers are shafted, managed out or driven out. Planners treated as expendable. Bullies and backstabbers are rewarded while high performers are punished. One of my high-performing teammates had three 10/10s from customers but it was never recognised by NOC management. This colleague was then "forcibly disappeared" with no explanation. Managers are clueless and don't even know how to do the work itself. If all the planners were to leave tomorrow, these managers wouldn't even know how to action a work order themselves... HR works for the employer (i.e management), not the employee. Just look at the turnover this year - 5 planners gone. If HR understood employee concerns then there wouldn't be this mass exodus. The turnover is so high and nothing gets changed so be aware before going into this role. If so many planners are disappearing or leaving, there is something wrong with management, not the planners. We are told to raise issues and concerns by management but then are called "negative" or are screamed at for mentioning painpoints we are having, like IT issues affecting the half the time. And then they wonder why nobody says anything at these "team meetings." It's just like any other company - office politics, bureaucracy and nice marketing sound bites but no substance underneath. "Meaningful work" - you spend more time fighting management and being dragged into office politics than actually helping customers "Inclusive" - yeah nice joke. If it's so inclusive why all the secrecy, gossip and whispering in the office? "Empowered" - is micromanagement empowerment?!!?! Fear breeds consternation. As mentioned previously, suggestions from planners are shouted down quite literally. There is a culture of intimidation and fear - "disenfranchised" would be a more accurate term rather than the sound bite. $chneider Electric seemed like a good company to work for. Sadly, the truth was very different.

Pros

- Decent pay and good benefits - work truck with gas card -good experience

Cons

- management is disconnected from field employees - review process does not reflect employee performance since managers do not go out in field in order to properly assess job performance - poor communication which leads to chaotic project implementation - no standardization of necessary info for each customer site. You walk in completely blind each time you visit a customer you’ve never been to - safety is important, but corporate pushes redundant messaging so frequently i believe it has the opposite of the intended effect - forced to wear long sleeves FR shirts in hot weather even when you are not exposed to fire hazards any more than a standard office employee
