Pros

Great people in most of the teams (especially Engineering, IR, CTU, SOC) Good pension Usually good starting salaries Bonus

Cons

High turn over, especially from senior leaders who have been with the company for years Fear of yearly RIF/redundancies waves Demotions Minimal pay increase, even with promotions people are severely underpaid the market value. They then leave and HR are forced to pay market rate to backfill, instead of just doing pay reviews and retaining staff. Terrible silo culture, people hardly know other teams Lack of investment into staff, no clear career progression plans as goal posts moved continually. Managers say they follow the Dell process for promotion, when you hit the criteria for that, say Secureworks have different ones Only opportunity for promotion is in US/Atlanta Can't make any decisions without Dell approval Rumours every so often that Dell's selling Secureworks sends panic to the staff Political Leaders given jobs with zero experience in that role to save money Managers brought in with zero knowledge/experience of the industry and given free reign to ruin teams with their ideas

Pros

Formed good relationships with colleagues

Cons

Transition from an organization that had a great services reputation in the industry to a crowded XDR space, along with complacent management led to their acquisition
